Venesio Photo in Exile |
I had all these intentions of becoming a photojournalist, but to quote John Lennon, "Life's what's happens while you're busy making other plans." So here we are. I hope you enjoy the result as much as I enjoyed creating the contents of this site. |

Messing around with Snapseed. Collage made in photoshop mobile.
So I’m trying to keep some level of photojournalist ethics to my street project.
1. I’m not blatantly seeking posed photos.
2. Ideally the photos should have minimal editing. Make it look like what the eye sees.
That being said, I’m having so much fun with this it’s hard not to cut loose. I want to get creative with this stuff on some level. 🤔🤷♀️

Last few weeks, I’ve been catching up on church stuff. I’ve been doing it downtown after the gym, as Nanci has been sick. Some of this is going in one towards something I’m working on.
Weird. Hide in the shadows. Take in the colors…it’s not supposed to be black and white, and even the best black and white photos have shades of gray.
People are weird, even the ones that don’t cop to it. Especially the ones that don’t cop to it. Celebrate the weird.
Eat the damn burger, but not with pickles. Never with pickles. And apparently now no lettuce.
Go explore stuff. Do the free concert. Walk a different route. Let the rando talk to you on light rail, just don’t give him your number—trust me on that one, ended up with a stalker that way. There’s a story, I swear.

I’m typed this up last week, and I’ve been meaning to post it. Still haven’t got around to connecting my Wordpress app to my site but this posts to my page still, so here we go.
I’m sitting here in Starbucks drinking a double dirty chai latte, as I often do when I still have stuff to do post evening workout. I’m watching people filter about Downtown Commons. I think there’s a concert going on, as there’s a few guys approaching people with shirts with something called “Bad Bunny.” There’s of course a police presence considering the events of a few weeks ago.
I think about how cynical and jaded I’ve become. How people in general seem the same way, to the point I’ve had my intentions questioned when I’ve tried to be nice.
So I want to know. What’s good? Sounds like a simple question. What business, group, or person is making an interesting and positive impact on the area around them. Let me help you share your story.
